Technical specifications – thumb cut calendar printing

Construction: Wiro-bound wall calendar with a shaped thumb cut and hanging arrangement. Current options include A4, A5 and selected square/orientation formats.

Pagination: Current thumb-cut configurations are 16 or 28 pages. The 16-page version is printed double-sided; the 28-page version uses 14 printed sheets with blank reverse sides according to the current production format.

Artwork: Supply one PDF in the specified page order from front to back. Include 3mm bleed, use 300dpi images and supply CMYK PDF, preferably PDF/X-1a, with fonts outlined or embedded.

Safe areas: Allow 15mm on the wiro-binding edge and 10mm on all other edges. Keep content away from the thumb-cut area shown in the template.

Material: Current wiro/thumb-cut calendar ranges include 170gsm or 200gsm silk inner pages with selected premium cover stocks.

Sequence: Some calendar formats are designed to be read through part of the year and then flipped to continue. Follow the current template/page-order instructions rather than arranging months solely by visual intuition.

Production note: Page count, binding, thumb cut and month sequence are structural requirements. A PDF with the wrong number/order of pages cannot be corrected reliably by simply rearranging it at print stage.
