UK Paper Sizes Explained
Most UK print uses the A series of paper sizes (ISO 216), where each size is half the area of the one above it: A0 is 841 × 1189 mm, A1 594 × 841 mm, A2 420 × 594 mm, A3 297 × 420 mm, A4 210 × 297 mm, A5 148 × 210 mm, A6 105 × 148 mm and A7 74 × 105 mm. DL (99 × 210 mm) fits a standard DL envelope. When you set up your artwork, add 3 mm bleed on every edge.

What is PRINTdirect?
PRINTdirect is a UK online printing service for businesses, operated by London Print Management Ltd from 167–169 Great Portland Street, London. You can order business cards, flyers, booklets, posters, banners, signage, packaging, branded clothing and promotional products online. Printing and finishing are completed in the UK, and standard delivery is free to mainland UK addresses.
What can I print online with PRINTdirect?
Our online range covers business cards, flyers and leaflets, books and booklets, business stationery, cards and invitations, calendars and planners, posters and large format, roller banners, outdoor displays, exhibition stands, point of sale displays, stickers and labels, packaging and tags, branded clothing, promotional items and restaurant and hospitality print. If you need something that isn’t listed, we can quote for it.
How does ordering printing online work?
Choose a product, then use the configurator to select the size, material, finish, quantity and delivery option. The price and estimated delivery date are shown before you order. Supply your print-ready artwork and we check it free of charge before it goes into production. If your file needs work, our design team can prepare it for you.
How much does online printing cost?
Prices depend on the product, size, material, finish, quantity and delivery option you choose. Every product page has a configurator that shows the exact price before you order, and standard delivery to mainland UK addresses is free. New customers can save 10% on full-priced products with code WELCOME10 (one use per customer, no minimum spend).
Is delivery free?
Yes. Standard delivery is free on all orders to mainland UK addresses, with no hidden delivery fees. Where faster delivery is available, any additional charge is shown before you order. Orders containing several products may arrive in separate parcels. We don’t offer international shipping. See our shipping policy for details.
How quickly can I get my printing?
Most products offer Saver, Standard and Express delivery options. Because everything is printed to order, the estimated delivery date shown when you order includes both production and delivery. If you need your print for an event, exhibition or launch, contact us before ordering and we’ll confirm whether your deadline can be met.
What artwork do I need to supply?
For most products, supply one print-ready PDF at the finished size in CMYK, with 3 mm bleed on every edge, important content at least 3 mm inside the trim, images at around 300 dpi and fonts embedded or outlined. Many product pages include PDF, EPS and InDesign templates. Our artwork guidelines cover folding, booklets, special finishes and large format.
Do you check my artwork, and can you design it for me?
Yes. When you upload artwork for printing, we check it free of charge to confirm it is print-ready. The check looks for common production issues, so please still proofread your text before approving it. If your file needs work, our design team can help, from image enhancement (from £7 ex VAT) and logo vectorisation (from £18 ex VAT) to a full design from scratch (from £95 ex VAT).
Is there a minimum order quantity?
It depends on the product. For example, A5 flyers start at 50 copies, while PVC banners can be ordered individually. The configurator on each product page lists the available quantities and shows the price for each before you order.
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by Visa, Mastercard or American Express, Apple Pay or Google Pay on supported devices, Amazon Pay, Link or bank transfer. All prices are in pounds sterling.
What happens if something is wrong with my order?
Because everything we make is printed to order, we can’t accept change-of-mind returns once production has started. If your print arrives damaged or faulty, differs from the specification you ordered, or we’ve made a production error, contact us as soon as possible (ideally within 24 hours) with your order number and photos. We’ll put it right with a reprint, refund or another suitable remedy. Your statutory rights are not affected. See our returns policy.
