Technical specifications – laminated flyers

Sizes: Standard laminated flyer sizes run from A7 through to A3, subject to the selected paper weight, print-side and lamination configuration. Use the exact artwork template for the ordered finished size and orientation.

Paper: Current laminated flyer specifications use heavyweight 350gsm or 450gsm silk paper. The silk coating provides a smooth printing surface before lamination and the heavier weights create a firm, card-like finished piece.

Printing: Full-colour CMYK, with single- or double-sided printing available according to the selected specification.

Lamination: Choose Matt, Gloss or Soft Touch. Matt produces a smooth low-sheen finish and reduces glare; Gloss creates a reflective high-shine surface and can increase perceived colour intensity; Soft Touch has a low-sheen, velvety tactile surface. Lamination can be applied according to the selected single- or double-sided configuration.

Artwork setup: Supply a print-ready CMYK PDF at 300dpi with all fonts outlined or embedded. Include 3mm bleed on every trimmed edge and extend backgrounds or images fully into the bleed. Keep text, logos, QR codes and other critical elements at least 3mm inside the finished trim; allow more clearance where an even visual border is important.

Multiple designs: Where more than one design is ordered, supply either a clearly ordered multi-page PDF with front/back pages in sequence or separate two-page PDFs for each design set.

Production tolerances: Lamination is applied before final trimming, so normal guillotine cutting tolerances still apply. Avoid narrow borders that rely on perfectly equal margins on every edge and keep small text or fine rules away from the trim line.

Durability: The laminate improves resistance to scuffing, marking, frequent handling and light moisture, but the cut paper edges remain exposed. Laminated flyers are therefore not fully waterproof and should not be specified for prolonged wet or demanding outdoor conditions.
