Product Description for Teardrop Flag Printing | Custom Event Flags

Teardrop flag printing creates a rounded, tensioned promotional display that keeps the fabric in a distinctive curved shape. The compact footprint and visible silhouette make it popular for events, sports venues, retail entrances and outdoor campaigns.

Choose a suitable base for the location, such as a ground spike for soft surfaces or a weighted base for hard ground. The printed fabric can be replaced on compatible poles, allowing the display hardware to be reused for future campaigns.

Artwork should be created on the exact teardrop template, using large logos, short messages and strong contrast. Keep essential content clear of seams and the curved outer edge so it remains visible once the fabric is fitted to the pole.

  • 300dpi resolution
  • Supply at a scale of 25% (Our templates are supplied at 25% scale)
  • Please convert black (100% K) to true black (C:100 M:100 Y:100 K:100) If you supply artwork as black (100% K) Your design will be printed as navy blue.
  • Include 3mm bleed on all sides
  • Supply as a CMYK PDF, preferably PDF/x1a
  • Outline or embed fonts
  • 10mm safe zone/margin

Technical specifications – teardrop flag printing

Construction: Tensioned printed fabric fitted to a curved pole that creates the teardrop outline. The graphic remains under tension rather than hanging as a loose rectangular flag.

Artwork scale: Prepare artwork using the supplied template at 25% scale. Use 300dpi raster imagery at the template scale, 3mm bleed and a minimum 10mm safe zone.

File and colour: Supply CMYK PDF, preferably PDF/X-1a, with all fonts embedded or outlined. For solid black use the production-specified rich-black build C100 M100 Y100 K100 rather than K100 alone.

Design: Keep key text and logos clear of the pole sleeve, sewn perimeter and pointed/curved areas. The usable visual area is smaller than the overall fabric outline, so follow the template safe area rather than centring content by eye.

Hardware: Choose a base appropriate to hard or soft ground and to the intended flag height. Outdoor stability depends on the base, surface, installation and weather.

Graphic replacement: Replacement graphics can only be assumed compatible when the pole size and product generation match. Confirm hardware compatibility before ordering a graphic-only replacement.

Production note: Because fabric is tensioned and sewn, avoid precise continuous borders or graphics that must align perfectly to the physical edge.
