Technical specifications – plastic business cards

Finished size: Approximately 86 × 54mm, a wallet/card format similar to a bank card. Use the template for exact orientation and safe areas.

Material options: 560mic white PVC-style card and 850mic white PVC-style card use a printed core with PVC overlay; 760mic solid plastic and 760mic transparent solid plastic options provide a more rigid one-piece feel. The numerical thickness alone does not indicate stiffness because construction differs between materials.

Printing and features: Full-colour print is available, with selected options for metallic foil, magnetic stripe and signature panel. These functional features create non-print or registration-sensitive areas that must be respected in the template.

Artwork: Supply a CMYK PDF at 300dpi with fonts outlined or embedded. Add 3mm bleed unless the selected template states otherwise, and keep essential information within the 3mm safe zone.

Transparent cards: White areas of conventional CMYK artwork are unprinted/transparent unless a white-ink process is specifically included. Design with the transparency of the substrate in mind.

Production note: Magnetic stripes, signature panels and other functional elements must not be covered by critical artwork. Use the exact template for the selected card construction because print areas and tolerances vary by option.
