Technical specifications – crash lock boxes

Construction: Die-cut folding carton with a pre-glued automatic/crash-lock base. The base opens and locks into position as the carton is erected, reducing assembly time compared with a conventional manual tuck-base box. Boxes are supplied flat for storage and transport.

Materials: Current stock options include approximately 380gsm Technodesign SBS, 400gsm Classic Demimatt, 380gsm brown card made from recycled pulp and selected 300gsm premium card options. Exact board availability depends on the chosen size and print configuration.

Printing: Full-colour CMYK. Printing on both exterior and interior is available only on supported two-sided coated-board specifications.

Finishing: Selected boxes can be finished with matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination. Lamination changes surface protection, sheen and tactile feel but must be chosen before final production approval.

Artwork: Use the exact dieline at 1:1 scale. Supply a CMYK PDF at 300ppi with fonts embedded or converted to curves. Vector paths should be at least 0.25pt and a minimum font size around 6pt is recommended for guaranteed legibility.

Bleed and safe area: The current production template includes a 5mm bleed allowance. Keep all text at least 3mm from the cut line and well clear of folds, glue zones, locking tabs and other structural areas. Do not add a second arbitrary bleed outside a template that already includes it.

Assembly note: Artwork is viewed flat during design but changes orientation around multiple panels when erected. Build and check a physical/mock 3D representation before approval, especially where graphics cross folds or continue around corners.
