Product Description for Waterproof PVC Poster Printing | Durable Posters

Waterproof PVC poster printing uses a synthetic plastic-based material instead of paper, giving the finished poster significantly better resistance to water, tearing and repeated handling.

PVC posters are useful for outdoor notices, event signage, maps, menus, instructions and temporary promotional displays where ordinary paper may soften or fail in damp conditions. Full-colour print allows the same branding, photography and text used on conventional posters while improving practical durability.

Because the material itself is water-resistant, lamination is usually unnecessary for basic protection. PVC remains flexible rather than rigid, so choose Foamex or another board when a self-supporting sign is required.

  • To avoid disappointment, we recommend a minimum font size of 18pt and a line weight of 2pt for this product. Please have a look at our Help Centre article for more details.

Technical specifications – waterproof PVC poster printing

Material: Flexible synthetic PVC poster material rather than ordinary paper, providing water resistance and significantly improved tear/handling performance for damp or exposed applications.

Printing: Full-colour CMYK large-format print.

Artwork scale: Supply at 1:1. Include 3mm bleed on all sides and maintain a minimum 10mm safe zone from the trim.

Resolution and detail: 150dpi at final size. A minimum font size of approximately 18pt and line weight of approximately 2pt is recommended for reliable large-format output. Supply a CMYK PDF with fonts outlined or embedded.

Performance: PVC is waterproof as a substrate and is more suitable than paper for wet environments, outdoor notices and frequently handled display material. It remains a flexible sheet; it is not a self-supporting rigid sign.

Mounting: If the poster must stand independently, remain perfectly flat without a frame or be mechanically fixed as a board, choose a rigid product such as Foamex/foam board as appropriate to the environment.

Production note: Avoid placing essential information close to edges that may be covered by a frame or fixing. Check the installation method before finalising the safe area, particularly for poster holders and external display cases.
