Product Description for Demy Perfect Bound Books & Brochures

Demy perfect bound books and brochures finish at 138 x 216mm and use a glued square-spine construction for documents that need a more substantial, publication-style appearance than a stapled booklet. They are suitable for reports, catalogues, manuals, journals, portfolios and short-run publishing.

The current range extends to high page counts, with online specifications up to 700 pages depending on size and paper selection. Typical inner choices across the range include uncoated white or cream stocks and silk papers, with a heavier printed cover and selected matt or gloss lamination options. PUR adhesive is used for the perfect-bound construction.

Spine width depends on page count and chosen paper, so the cover must be built from the exact template generated for the ordered specification. Do not reuse a spine calculation from another printer or a different paper stock.

Supply print-ready artwork as a high-resolution PDF at 300dpi in CMYK (FOGRA39 where a profile is required). Embed all fonts or convert text to outlines/curves. Add 3mm bleed on every trimmed edge and extend backgrounds and images fully into the bleed. Keep important text, logos, QR codes and other critical content at least 3mm inside the finished trim. Crop marks are not required when the PDF is supplied at the correct trim size with bleed.

Supply the inner pages as one multi-page PDF in reading order, with the front cover first only where the product template instructs. For perfect binding, use the artwork template for binding margins and any cover, spine or drilling requirements rather than calculating these from another printer-specific specification. Supply the wraparound cover separately using the exact page-count/paper-specific spine template and observe any non-print adhesive areas shown.
